A new Osama bin Laden tape has surfaced just two days after the anniversary of 9/11. In the tape, he calls Barack Obama ‘powerless’ and says that the American people still don’t understand the meaning of the attacks of September 11, 2001.

It’s pretty typical of Osama bin Laden to make a recording and distribute it for the American public’s consumption on or about the anniversary of his greatest moment in history. That, of course, is the success of the attacks he ordered on 9/11/2001. This year is no different. On September 13, 2009, a new tape of bin Laden surfaced that takes a similar tact to that which bin Laden has taken in the past, threats and pseudo-conciliatory gestures towards the American people. He talks about current events, indicating that he is still alive should it prove to be him on the tape. As with previous tapes, the video shows only a still photo of bin Laden.
In this tape, bin Laden accuses the Obama Administration of doing nothing more than continuing the policies of the Bush Administration in terms of the war effort against al-Qaeda. He says this indicates that Obama is ‘powerless’ to do anything about the war in Afghanistan. In fact, he calls Obama a Mustad’aaf, translated to mean ‘Obama is weak’. However, as explained by Walid Phares, the meaning in this context is probably that Obama has been weakened by the influences surrounding him.
He states in the tape that outside of the United States severing our ties with Israel, al-Qaeda will continue the War as they have been. They will continue to wage a war of attrition in every venue that is available to them.
He also states that America has failed to understand the reasons behind the attacks of 9/11 and the decades long war against America and her interests. He reiterates that as long as the U.S. favors Israel and Jews over Arabs and muslims, the war will continue. He says that we have no understanding of the suffering the Jews have caused the muslim world.
In the past, Osama has focused on the ‘evil nature’ of American policies. Now he is focusing on the power of Israeli influence in the Obama Administration. He is addressing the American people and using clever propaganda to create anti-Semitism, confusion and division among the people and within the White House.
And so it goes. Another tape, more threats, propaganda and the War on Terror continues (regardless of what the Obama Administration wants to call it this week or the next). Obama has catered to our enemies with speeches to the muslim world, bowing to the Saudi King and dissing the Prime Minister of Israel. All of that for nothing apparently. He has yet to understand that aside from submitting the United States as a whole to the will of the radical islamofascists, they will hate him just as they did Bush and any other American who doesn’t bend to their will.
As is evidenced in this most recent tape, bin Laden and his operatives will use any gesture made by the President or past President Jimmy Carter to promote their own agendas and as a propaganda tool against the United States and other Western countries and interests. I believe people who allow themselves to be used for the propaganda purposes of their country’s enemies are referred to as ‘useful idiots’.
